Showing my Leadership in Production

Hi guys,
I have been doing really well in showing leadership in Production and I would like to show you how I have done it. In Production I always try to do my best, even when I am tired because of constant rehearsals. I always try to encourage others to do their best when they could do better. Also I have improved a lot in my acting which shows that I have been listening well to feedback and the director. Anyway thank you for your time.
Cheers

Showing my Leadership in Kapa haka

Hi guys,
Recently I have been stepping up to leadership far better than I expected and I would like to show proof that I am doing them to the best of my ability. I always turn up to Kapa haka when I when I can, as I have other leadership roles that are top priority like Production. On Monday Nate and I had to come into Kapa haka late, because we had to do production. Everyone else had been practicing for 15 more minutes than us and some people were still not getting the actions right after 15 minutes. In 6 minutes Nate and I had already learnt 3/4s oK the actions and song. In my opinion that is proof that I try to do Kapa haka at the best of my ability.
Cheers.

The Speech

Hi guys,
So recently, I have been put into a group of people who might go to the Ellesmere Speech competition. We were given a week to write a speech about any topic. The only catch was... it had to be a persuasive speech.
Anyway, here it is,

The Speech

Religion. It is a very important part of modern society today. We benefit from the range of cultures and religions that we have today.
Yet some primary schools are stopping religion from thriving in New Zealand, by trying to ban religious education being taught in some Canterbury schools’.
I believe that religious education should be taught in schools, but the parents should have the freedom to opt out.
Looking at the world stage right now, we have numerous examples of religious intolerance. For example, the Shiite muslims versus the Sunni muslims, and also the Palestinians versus the Israelis, and many more. By teaching children about other peoples beliefs and opinions, they would learn to respect other peoples beliefs. You may be thinking, what would we gain from this? We would gain a significant decrease in future, religion based wars.
Many religion based wars, are rooted in intolerance. In other words, not accepting others opinions. Intolerance to other peoples beliefs is based on the idea, that only one religion is the one that should be followed, and the right religion. Yet if we  properly educated children about other peoples point of view, then we wouldn’t have as much intolerance and fanaticism in the world, as we have today.
What is fanaticism? Fanaticism is wildly excessive or irrational devotion, dedication or enthusiasm. Look at fanatics through the years. For example, look at Osama Bin Laden. He was an extreme fanatic. Even to the extent of destroying the twin towers, and the lives of almost 3,000 people, just for religious purposes.
The New Zealand Bill of Rights Act 1990 #13 states: Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience, religion, and belief, including the right to adopt and to hold opinions without interference.
59% of New Zealand parents said that they wanted religious education to be taught in New Zealand schools.
By educating, our young children of today, about different beliefs and value systems, we are showing that every belief has its points and merits, and that we get a generation of informed thinkers.

Term Reflecton

Hi guys,
In this post I will be reflecting on my work on the three main areas of  learning. Reading,Maths and Writing.
Enjoy!

Reading Reflection: I think my reading work has been very good this term because my reading report says that I am level 5 P overall. Level 5 P is year 8 standard yet I am only a year 7. My next step would be infer meaning from the text without trying.

Maths Reflection: I think my maths has been OK this term because my maths report shows that I am at standard for my age level. My next step would be x 3 digit numbers.

Writing Reflection: I think my writing has been good this term because my writing report shows that I am at standard for my age. My next step is write an explanation about a fixed subject instead of my own choice.

Thank you for reading this post and have a happy holidays!

Business and Consumer Explanation

Hi guys,
For the last 2 weeks I have been working on an explanation on when consumers or business's don't meet their expectations. Here it is.
Enjoy!

So you want to learn about business's and consumers? This explanation will have all the information you need to know about what happens when business's or consumers don't meet their expectations.
Business's and manufacturers can both lose customers and trust by making even just a little mistake. Here are some possible ways how this could happen.
- A business may sell a product without performing proper tests.
- A manufacturer may sell their product to a shop without realizing one or more of the product is faulty, therefore gaining a bad name without knowing.
- A customer may buy a product and take it back to the shop, but the shop refuses to redress the problem and then customers would lose trust in the shop because they would be breaking the consumer guarantees act.
-A consumer may bad mouth a business about a faulty product, yet they hadn't tryed to redress the problem. -A shop may sell faulty products, sold to them by a manufacturer and the shop would get a bad name and lose customers trust even though it was the manufacturers fault.
These are all valid ways a business or manufacturer may lose customers and trust.
Business's, manufacturers and customers can lose trust in each other by selling, buying or making faulty goods. Let me start off with explaining how a customer would lose trust in a manufacturer or seller. Imagine you went to a car dealer to buy a car. The advertisement didn't say 'as is where is' or that if anything went wrong you have to repair it yourself. You decided to buy the car for $15,000 with cash up front. You drive down the road and the brakes stop working. You go back to the seller and demand that he repairs the car's brakes or give you your money back. The seller refuses to do anything. You say to him that the advertisement didn't state 'as is where is' or anything that says that you have to take responsibility if something went wrong down the road. He still refuses to do anything. You go home and ring your insurance company about the situation and they say that they can help. The insurance company gives the seller 10 days to give you a refund or fix the car. The seller coughs up with the money and you go  searching for another car. I don't know about you but I would definitely lose trust in car dealers and sellers on online sites and cars for sale parked on the side of the road. In situations like this customers lose trust in business's and manufacturers.
The most unfortunate of the three has to be the customer because they lose time, confidence, trust  and money. Here are some possible ways manufacturers and business's can do to keep customers happy.

-Business's can make more guarantees on refunds and repairing faulty products.
-Manufacturers can double check products before selling them to shops and business's.
-Business's can ask more questions about products to the manufacturer.
-Business's and manufacturers can make sure that workers understand the consumer rights act and make sue they know their expectations.
Thank you for reading this explanation on business's and consumers. In this explanation you learnt how...
-How customers lose trust in business's and manufacturers.
-How business's and manufacturers can keep customers happy.
-The mistakes a business can make.
Thank you for your time and have a good day.

The Feeling

Hi guys,
This is my recount I have been working on for the last week. Hope you enjoy!

The Feeling.
Have you ever had that feeling? That feeling when you are all hyped up and you just want to know for sure that it is the right decision that you are about to make? I have. It all started on that sunny Sunday morning. The car tore across the road. We were just under the speeding limit. My hands were clasped in prayer. Please lord, tell me if this is the choice you want me to make, if you want me to do this, I thought quietly. All I heard  was the distant noise of my mum talking. I felt the seat belt dig into my skin as if to say go on and do it. We pulled into the church car park. I had mixed emotions swirling around in my head. One second I  am happy next second I am sad. We get out of the hot car and walk into the hot church.
Waiting. I am almost positive that everyone hates waiting. Every second felt like a minute, minutes felt like hours. Finally it is time for the big thing this whole recount has been about. The baptism.
I almost speed walked out of the damp room and out onto the stage. Now only one emotion survived the onslaught of audiences eyes. Happiness. I was happy because I had the chance to be baptised. I was happy because, I knew this is what I wanted to do. The carpet felt tingly on my bare feet. This is what I definitely wanted to do, I thought to myself. I answered a few questions then it began. I stepped into the tub of water. My clothes instantly stuck to my skin. My head hit the water. Thoughts swirled around in my head. Blood rushed through my veins. My heart was pumping. Then I felt calm and a sense of peace dawned on me.
Ever since that moment in my life, I have tried to live by God's word. Do you want to?
